I won't lie, healthy eating is very hard, but my little secret is quantity control. I still eat rice, but not the mountain. ???? You know the one that fills your plate and even pours. ???? I step it it down with plenty of water and I drink less soda. What about you?
Going to the gym is not by force ????. My go-to workout is a very simple walk and small home exercise. I do push-ups, squats, and planks if my body allows me. ???? Sometimes I just play afrobeats and stretch anyhow.???? What about you?.
There are so many things going on. One minute you are okay, and the next minute everything is boring and stressful. The weather is hot and expectations are choking. So, lately, I've just been thinking about balance. What about you?
What is motivating you these days?
For me, the bills I have to pay and my future plans motivates me. Those are the things that gingered me to work harder. Sometimes, I am pushed by small wins. Even waking up early and finishing one task feels like victory to me.
Is it just me or do weekends come faster these days? During the week is work all through, stress and life responsibilities. This weekend, I plan to rest. sleep well, eat good food, maybe a small movie marathon could fit in too. One of my guys is planning to go to the beach but I don't think I...
Concerts have that special feeling you can't possibly get anywhere. I recall attending a Burna performance, it was awesome. The audience, the lighting, the audio everything was absolutely perfect. I really had a nice time. The atmosphere was something I’ll never forget.
What’s the most...
Honestly, Sunday afternoons has a special vibe to me. I just like to lie down and watch a nice movie or have a peaceful sleep. That quiet Sunday peace hits differently. Sometimes I’ll even do some planning for the week
Regarding culture, I can confidently say my country is ahead. We may face some issues internally, but our culture is amazing. The cuisine, the respectfulness, the family spirit, the music, everything just feels very abundant. I appreciate how each tribe has its character and customs.
What’s...
Nature influences our emotions in many ways. I recall visiting a river located near my house. The gentle wind in that area alone refreshed my mind. No sounds, no tension, everything felt so serene. That experience showed me that occasionally connecting with nature is necessary to relax.
What...
Occasionally a random quote can completely refresh your mind. I’m not someone who dives into reading books heavily but yet Marcus Aurelius’ phrase, "you have power over your mind” struck me that year. What about you?
Quite a bit, honestly. I'm not obsessive about it, but I appreciate wildlife and think we have a responsibility to treat animals with respect. Animals add a lot to life to be honest.
Squirrels frequently visit my yard stealing from the bird feeder. Lately a group of rabbits have also been visiting. There's also a stray cat that occasionally appears on my porch searching for food.
Yes I encountered a bear while trekking along the bush in a rural area. I was turning a corner on the path. I saw it roughly 30 feet ahead. I kept my cool and retreated gradually. The bear looked at me briefly before strolling. My heart raced for an hour, after that.
I don’t own a dog now but when I did I took it out twice daily without exception, once in the morning and once in the evening. Dogs require that schedule and physical activity. It was beneficial for me, pushing me to go outdoors even when I wasn't in the mood.
Perhaps once annually if friends and my children wish to visit. I have conflicted feelings about zoos nowadays, the conservation efforts are good but yet observing animals confined can be disheartening
In my opinion it depends on your housing conditions and your capacity to provide care. Personally, having more than 2-3 would be overwhelming for me. However I've noticed that those with spaces manage 5 or more pets quite well.
You know I've really thought about it! Not as a pet but mainly, for fresh eggs. My neighbor keeps a few in her backyard. They appear quite easy to care for. The fresh eggs taste amazing. I might try it if I ever have a yard.
Yes. I collided with a turkey on a rural road a few years back. Avoiding it was impossible at that time. It suddenly ran out. I felt awful, for days afterward. Now I’m more careful when driving early morning when animals are most active.
