This was one of several shows starring Chef Ramsay. Unlike his other cooking shows, this is unique as he takes a huge risk using prisoners to learn how to cook and run a newly created Prison Bakery that will produce, market and sell their fresh baked goods on the outside.
He had to convince those in charge of the prison to let him try this experiment and that wasn't easy. His idea, if all went well, would potentially bring in money that can go back into paying the cost to run the prison, and also teach repeat offenders a marketable trade they can use to find meaningful employment upon release. He sought to break the cycle of release, return to crime and be reincarcerated.
In this 1st episode, he meets with a select group of prisoners and, after day one, he must narrow the group down to only twelve. This is a rough group and none have shown any cooking skills. He has his work cut out for him. The following episodes show their progress and are very interesting.
