So far, XenForo is my favorite out of all of them.
Invision looks nice but it's too pricey for me. I don't need all those suite features, so it would be a waste of money.

Email included with my hosting service is free.
I think it used Squirrel Mail or one of those common ones.
I'll set it up mainly to be able to send email from the domain name.
I also put the inbox on my phone so I can monitor email for it.
I used ProBoards way back when they first came out.
It was a nice forum hosting service back then. I'm sure it's still nice now. But it does tend to look a little outdated.
