You need money to run a forum, not just domain, hosting or software subscription, you also need money for content creation and marketing. How do you pay for your forum expenses? Are you making enough money to pay for the expenses, or are you spending from your pocket?

I pay for my forum expenses through my own pocket at the moment, but if we get any supporters who buy a user upgrade or even donate or buy advertising, we tend to put that towards the hosting and any other fees we may have for addons and such.

I cover all forum expenses out of my own pocket for now. This includes hosting, domain fees, and any small tools or plugins I use to keep the community running smoothly. Currently, I am also spending money on seeding content..

Easiest way that I pay for forum expenses is by using Google Adsense and inviting people to advertise their service on my website. That, alongside potential sponsors should be enough to break even until you start to grow. Once you’ve grown and got passive activity then that’s when you’ll make profit.
