General Part exchanging or selling privately?

Between part exchanging and selling privately a vehicle what do you choose? Part exchanging is quick and gives no hassle. While selling privately could ultimately a lot of time before the right buyer is found but can give more money. What do you do?

I'd rather sell the whole thing than deal with parts.
